A world beater
ByEvery now and again I come across something that is so totally ridiculous that it really “takes the cake” either in gullibility or manipulation. So today I was sent a link to “The 11 forgotten secrets” of Bob Proctors “The Secret”.
My views on this are well known but this really went to new levels in my opinion.
Some of the sales blurb was Bob actually saying the “The Secret” as it was sold to millions “didn’t work” because the media had watered it down. In other words, my product that I sold you didn’t work because I was made to change it so it would sell more. What a load of nonsense.
The fact is the USA slid into turmoil in spite of millions of people practising the secret because the secret doesn’t work. The real creator, God, will never let an evil philosophy like this prosper. There is enough smell of truth about the secret to suck people in who are desperately looking for answers but it sells them a quick fix deception instead of truth.
Anyway he then goes on to say that the secret was just incomplete and you need to spend another several thousand dollars to get the bits you didn’t get last time.
It is frankly reprehensible that this sort of marketing is allowed. Even more amazing is that good, naive people get taken advantage of looking for answers that cannot be found in this philosophy.
If your life doesn’t work, financially, relationally or whatever then there are 2 paths you can take that will work. Pursue a relationship with Jesus Christ. He made you, loves you and can heal every wound you have ever received OR
Take the practical route. Get educated in practical ways to budget, communicate, whatever it is you need. But please don’t waste good money on lies like the secret, the forgotten laws, ancient wisdom etc.
Be committed to the truth. And truth has a ring about it that you can learn to discern.
I can tell you the real secret. Having a successful life requires a commitment to genuine principles, it takes hard work and perseverance. Shortcuts are usually empty marketing promises designed to make someone else wealthy.
