Bigger than ourselves

I know I will get accused of big headedness but hopefully you will see past that unintended impression.

I was editing the DVD content from our Behind Closed Doors workshop and as I listened to Raewyn and myself I couldn’t help but think how good the material was. Nobody teaches this stuff and yet it is so critical.

Given the feedback we have had of reconciled marriages and freedom from depression and past pain etc. I am deeply humbled by God’s goodness in sharing with me His principles for life so that I can share them with others.
Sometimes life sucks you know, and the only way to really get free from that is to go to a power greater than ourselves.

We all need somebody smarter/stronger and more loving than we are sometimes. And each and every one of us has to find that place for ourselves. Drugs don’t do it, sex doesn’t do it, power and money don’t do it. None of these will ever solve a love deficit. None of these will ever make us feel at peace.

I nearly cried last night watching a programme on plastic surgery where a man had been through about 9 operations and was in my opinion hideously disfigured. His primary reason?? His stepdad had called him an ugly b*****d when he was a kid. So he spend his adult life trying to be free from those words through plastic surgery, when he could have been free in an hour through the power of forgiveness.

I trust that for you today that your pursuit of truth and wholeness is grounded in a search for someone or something greater than yourself. This is the path to true success in life.
