Deposit
ByA percentage of the purchase price given to bind the sale of real estate. NOTE: A deposit is not legally required and any amount can be tendered as deposit. As an investor you want to offer as little as possible. Agents will often say it is “usual” to pay 10% deposit. This is nonsense. There is no usual amount. I personally never pay more than $5000 deposit.
