How’s Your brain doing?
By
Did you know that your brain doles out to you a daily dose of chemicals that you get to spend?
If we are healthy then this is enough energy for us to feel good all day, interact at healthy levels and generally be OK.
But the amount of adrenaline and dopamine and various other bits and pieces we get is fixed. So when we are emotionally or mentally unwell our brain keeps reserves to ensure it can cope with suppressing our feelings, feeding our unforgiveness, giving voice to our hatred, keeping up with our perfectionism or self hatred etc.
What this means is that many of us have enough feel good drugs to get through our first coffee then we’re done.
This is a scientific process, it just happens whether we like it or not and impacts us way more than we think. So have a think today at what you expend your feel good drugs on and we’ll expand this tomorrow.

Hi Dean
A little bit of feed back to let you know that someone out there is reading your stuff.
Back in 1969 at the age of 17, I lived in Hong Kong and was surrounded by drugs, marijuana, cocaine and the like; even sitting next to and watching hardened drug addicts use cocaine via ‘chasing the dragon’. Absolutely disgusting and guaranteed to put a teenager off drugs for life. Anyway, that’s by the by and what I actually wanted to say is that I had it in my mind that dentists had used cocaine when I’d had fillings as late as 16 years old, so was surprised that this seemed to be an illegal drug. So on my next visit to the dentist to have another filling and trying to sound as casual as possible incase my enquiry gave away that I was in the thick of drugs, I asked the dentist what anaesthetic he was using and when he replied with some obscure name, as casually as I could, mentioned that I thought dentists used cocaine. To which he said that they used to but had now discovered that it was additive. So this drug was being used as late at 1968.
Btw the way, the lack of feedback could be the new site as I tried to leave this comment yesterday but couldn’t figure it out in a hurry. Keep up the informative info.
