Reward and Usefulness
By
I observe repeatedly that people are very attracted to things that they don’t understand in the pursuit of wealth. I’ve commented on this before where some bizarre, unproven millionaire by midnight scheme arrives in your inbox. You and I would delete it but thousands and thousands of people don’t. They are almost passively looking for success to drop into their lives without effort.
What we need to learn to embrace is this:
Reward is linked to usefulness!
This is one of those life principles that many of us never embrace, but man does it have power to change us.
Ask yourself the following questions:
1. How am I useful to others?
2. What do I do at church/work/home that I am good at and enjoy?
3. What is the thing in me that is a bit left of centre. What makes me unique?
You see if you can cultivate usefulness in your thinking you will create your path to wealth. The most successful people on the planet provide products and services that are useful, simple as that.
And you have something that will be useful, something that others will pay you for.
We are all created by God and God is very clear that He gives each of us the ability to create wealth. And He also tells us to “plough our field” before we “build our house”.
In other words find the thing that makes you useful, start a business doing it until you start to see consistent crops, THEN buy the toys, the cars, the pleasurable stuff.
Now if you are reading this and thinking that you don’t have a gift, you don’t have any useful ability, all I can say is you are lying to yourself. God gave EVERYBODY a gift,a talent, an ability to be self sufficient.
It is easier to cultivate this ability if you have an active relationship with God but whether you do or not, the gift is there.
So your choice today, ( I’ll expand on this tomorrow), are you going to create wealth for another or for yourself??
